Make A Wish Day 1

We spent the week researching and planning and packing. We checked our lists twice, Santa style, and hoped we had thought of everything. Our flight was scheduled to leave at 7:30 so our shuttle was to pick us up at 4:45am. We went to bed early and rose before the sun. As we were getting ready I looked out the window and saw a very long car in the driveway... they sent a limo! This was very exciting for Ocean as she had said just the previous day when spotting a limo on the road, "Someday I am going to be a rock star so I can ride in a limo!" The ride to the airport was very fun. We were all very excited and Seven was just enamoured with the starry ceiling. Curb checking at the airport was a breeze. And then the most amazing thing happened. Getting through security was problem free and quick as can be. They didn't even look at the letter from the doctor or all of the prescription labels. They just sent the medicine through a little machine, tested for fumes coming off some of the liquids and then sent us on our way. I told them it was so much easier than I thought it was going to be and they said it sure did help how organized we were. So I guess all the work we went to wasn't for naught. The airport was pretty quiet and we had a long chat with one of the Southwest Airlines agents whose daughter has been waiting years to be healthy enough to go on her wish trip. All of the SWA agents were wonderful and kind to us. One of them came up and hand delivered us onto the airplane before they had even called for pre-boarding. And then as we were waiting to push back...Why not take a trip up to the cockpit to visit with the pilots?
But how could a trip go so smoothly for us? Seven is way too complicated for that. He had been fussing going through the airport and while waiting for the plane. We assumed it was because we woke him up early. But just before we pulled onto the runway, Jasmine found a nasty looking fluid oozing from his ear. An ear infection right before his first plane ride? Awesome. We braced ourselves for the worst but amazingly he didn't cry at all during the flight. In fact, he seemed to enjoy it some. We looked at fashion magazines together. Seven is so savvy when it comes to trends off the runway.
When we landed in Orlando there was a fun surprise waiting for us.

A representative from the Give Kids The World Village greeted us and had a luggage cart with her which helped immensely. She told us 44 families were checking in to the Village that day. She got us over to the car rental station and stayed with us until we were on the road. It was only about a 20 minute drive to the Village. It was about 5:00 Florida time. At check in there were presents for the kids. The place is so big and had so many events that they had a 56 page Village Guide and Jarrad attended a 45 minute orientation. Every night they had a special event at the Village and every day there were unlimited carousel rides, train rides, train rides, video games, character meet and greets, and so much more. We were taken to our villa and shown around.

As we unpacked we ordered a delivery from Katie's Kitchen, one of the dining options, and Boston Market showed up. Apparently that's what Katie's Kitchen is, an on-site Boston Market. It was a long day of traveling and we went to sleep as soon as we could.
