We finally got the air mattress rocking in the night. It looks so seductive, I kind of want to shove Seven over and take a nap! I actually did nap for a few hours this morning.
Yesterday was a long hard day for me, and I decided to let Jarrad take all of the responsibility for the morning. He is a trooper and took really good care of me. He made sure we didn't have any visitors and took "meetings" outside so I could rest.
Not a lot of changes were made this morning. It's still just fine tuning of different electrolytes and getting rid of the fluid. We kept up with the diuretic and added another medication called Albumin which will help pull the fluid into the veins and then out the "exit."
The blisters are going to be around for a while.
The big excitement of the day (and it really wasn't that exciting,) was changing the dressing on the femoral line. This is a "kind of a big deal." Anyone in the room had to wear a mask. We have to be especially careful not to get any bacteria near the site. Jarrad took some sweet photos of the procedure.
He is looking a lot better now! Much less swelling. He also wiggled quite a bit. I started singing in his ear and it looked like he was smiling! His eyelids have started twitching like he wants to open them. We are still trying to keep him very comfortable and fairly sedated.
